Ok, so was battering out a list that suits my need for fluff, Purifiers and an Inquisitor so this came this incarnation of my GK list. Its rough, and needs playtesting but everything is scoring...which is a cheeky bonus at this level of points. Thoughts, gripes and everything else is appreciated.

Building a GK Force - The List

Ahoyhoy internets, DaveHowitzer here with another list variation for the new GKs, but this one I think I might well build on the cuff whilst I'm typing. I'm doing this to give an insight as to what I'm thinking for my 1500pt list, plus it gives me a visual aid in order to keep my thought process constructive and to the point, which can only be a good thing when building a list. I have a rough idea, so let's get down the business and get writing shall we!

First our Troops, I was considering MSU, utilising GKSS and Psybacks to gain fire supremacy in the midfield however, in my mind max MSU lists are a bit squishy -does that go against the rest of the internets?- and I'd prefer to get some meat in my list, so lets start with a maxed out Grey Knight Strike Squad with 2 Psycannons and a Rhino. This is going to be our advancing guard, moving opponents off of objectives and intercepting enemy infantry closing in on the GK midfield line, so we need to give them a little "umph". We add in a Master Crafted Hammer on the Justicar so we have more of a chance of popping open some sweet tastey transports at close range and psybolts to increase our chances of killing infantry at 24 inches. Sod it, lets have two of them for a solid advancing guard. So;

The idea was to have a more solid midfield than the GKSS units would allow. Yes it's still power armour, but now I have the added utility of extra psycannons and better statlines for slightly more cost. The larger units are there to hold midfield till midgame then to objective grab and advance if needs be - they should be an ok assault force should a unit need finishing off or slowed down. They won't take down TWC but they'll get the job done with Tactical Squads and other similar units. Plus Cleansing Flame is the boy. Crowe hides behind the tanks until something gets too close or gets behind the midfield lines. Simple.

ARMY LISTS: Quick and Dirty Deathwing 1750

Thank you GW FAQ 1.1

Quick and dirty Deathwing list I made 15 minutes ago to try out, has a libby in it for psychic defence but I'm unsure if I'm going to change it for an Interrogator Chappy to stick to Belial's unit.
Basically Belial and his unit with the Apoth and the Libby's unit start in the LRCs and the other 3 squads Deathwing Assault onto the table. Simples.

40k: Hunt the Alien - A new approach?

40k: Hunt the Alien List v3

Ahoyhoy internets, here I think will be the final draft of the shooty Deathwatch 1500pts list. On the advice of Fester on 3++ chat a few days ago, I've decided to drop the idea of a thunderwolf "hammer" for this points level and just went with an all shooty, all singy, all dancy Deathwatch. Hunt the Alien: Seconded to the Deathwatch

Ahoyhoy internets, DaveHowitzer here once again with some hobby for a change.

-Good lord, I hear you cry, the chap has gone insane, some hobby talk on a 40k blog, this is heresy!-

Well for those of you that remember, last week I posted my thoughts on building a new Imperial army in response to the way 5th edition has treated my beloved Deathwing. After a lot of thought I realised that I didn't fancy making my own chapter, becuase I have such a connection with my Dark Angels -as cheesy as that sounds- So what to do, what to do. I moved to my second love, the Daemonhunters, but I realised there that I just wanted to make the characters in my DH game into an army on the table top...and besides...Daemonhunters competative? Nahh

So then it hit me. I love the Inquisition, and what's ALMOST as cool as Grey Knights and ISTs? The Deathwatch.

40k: 2k Warhost 1.2

ARMY LISTS: The H-Bomb 2k

Ahoyhoy internets, DaveHowitzer here once again with a 40k fix.

Before anything though, I'd very much like to thank my good friend Archnomad over at Skavenblight for the plugs on the banner I did him, I don't think it's that great but hey I friggin love praise! Happy times!

So as you know I'm busy working away on my Eldar list in my Assembling the Warhost articles and the first 1k points of fully painted Ulthwé goodness is nearly done.

ARMY LISTS: Assembling the Warhost 1k

Ahoyhoy internets, Dave here once again for a rare 40k post! Good lord, I hear you exclaim, well believe it folks. Now today I'd like to go into a little background about my Ulthwé Eldar list that I've had since the tender age of 15...or rather why I scrapped said list and began again from scratch. Basically back in the day, I ruined my Eldar. I played them relatively OK managing to get about an average loss/draw/win ratio when playing my old Craftworld Eldar Ulthwé. Little bit of FootDar was fun, and the old Seer Council rules were simply filthy. 

Then with the new codex I kinda put the Eldar on the back burner in favour of my 2nd 40k love, the Deathwing and spent stupid amounts of time (and money) on getting the most badass lookign army on the tabletop. After C:SM and the "death" of C:DA I kinda fell out with the hobby for a while and switched to fantasy.

I don't know what gave me the 40k bug again this year but I'm glad I got it. I got out the old nail polish remover, stripped some old metal Eldar and began to paint. So the plan is to build the list from 1k to 1.5k to 2k over the coming months and (hopefully) make my first fully painted army.
