ARMY LISTS: The H-Bomb 2k

Ahoyhoy internets, DaveHowitzer here once again with a 40k fix.

Before anything though, I'd very much like to thank my good friend Archnomad over at Skavenblight for the plugs on the banner I did him, I don't think it's that great but hey I friggin love praise! Happy times!

So as you know I'm busy working away on my Eldar list in my Assembling the Warhost articles and the first 1k points of fully painted Ulthwé goodness is nearly done.

-I say nearly done...we'll see when I get round to finishing it-

Anyhoo to take off a bit of the strain of working on competitive Eldar goodness I got to thinking on some wacky ideas that would be fun to play, so my next series of army list articles will be exploring some interesting avenues available in the Eldar Codex, and todays will be the H-Bomb.

Ok the H-Bomb list borrows from the old 4th edition powerhouse of the "Clown Car" in fact I'd go as far to say that it IS a Clow Car list. Holofield-Falcons. The idea is to set up the army in a castled formation in a "V" formation with the Falcons in the centre, covered by the serpents and Vypers. T1 the Army turboboosts in formation to where it needs to be to benefit from some awesome saves and hopefully avoid death. Next turn unload the Harlies and the Seers into enemy lines, fortuning the 'quins and Dooming the assault targets. Obviously the Grav tanks then disengage to hunt other targets, light vehicles, elite infantry etc, softening up the rest of the enemy army whilst the harlies assault the squishy bits.

Perhaps not the most competitive of lists in 5th edition, but a fun one that I intend trying out in the future. Like all Eldar lists it needs a bit of luck and to be wielded like a scalpel!

Check out Archnomad's blog Skavenblight if you can, I'm convinced in 6 months it will be THE place to go for WFB on the net.

-Plus we're both Scottish so if you don't we'll hunt you down and beat you up in skirts.-

Love, Dave

  1. Needs more Fire Dragons. And Fire Prism. And Jetbike Seer Council. And another Seer Council. And then some fire dragons. And then Eldrad again, as he's so good.

...... Sycophantic 40k meta aside, if you want to use Harlies may I suggest

    *DUN DUN DUN*

FootDAR. Prolly about as competitive as this (no offense) but people seem to lose to Footdar. Maybe cause their sides are splitting as they play against it? Seriously though, check it out?

Aussi, thanks for the plugs, and lovely picture. It's better than Jesus' bathrobe.

  2. Yeah man, as I say its a shits and giggles armyi believe Fritz 40k does ok with his Harlies, but don't get me wrong...I really really really have no intention of playing a Harly army. Gimme my Dragons and Prisms any day =P
